Wet n Wild - Back Alley Deals

So, I'm sorry for these horrible photos! I struggled to find the right lighting to take them in that looked the most true-to-life which is usually what I aim for. I wasn't completely satisfied with any of them, so I just included them all!.

Alright, so, the first picture on the top is Wet n' Wild - Back Alley Deals with one coat of Seche Vite on top. I've always just used a couple of coats of Seche Vite on top of glitters because they seem to eat through top coats and look kind of gritty.

The deal with shine is, the flatter the surface, the shinier it is. That's why when you buff the ridges out of your nails, they look shinier. So, I am guessing that it's really a matter of building a top coat thick enough to reach the top layer of glitter.

For the second and third pictures, I read on a fellow Minnesota blogger's blog (Makeup Withdrawal) that you should use American Classics - Gelous Gel Top Coat over glitters, then follow up with Seche Vite. I ran out and got a bottle at my nearest Sally Beauty Supply and tested it out. It worked!

The fourth photo is just in Sunlight.

Wet n Wild - Back Alley Deals, $4 Walgreens; American Classics - Gelous, $5.49 Sally Beauty Supply;
 Seche Vite, $8 Sally Beauty Supply, $10 Target and Ulta

Unfortunately, I think the Wet n Wild polish will be pretty hard to find, it came out as part of a Limited Collection in Oct 2011 at Walgreens. I was in Toronto October and most of November so when I got back, I had a hard time finding it.

You can, however get an exact dupe (according to other blogs) by nails inc. at Sephora for $9.50.
