a england - St. George

An oldie but a goodie!

Today, I have a england - Saint George from a england's "The Legends Collection". I've had this polish since my birthday 2012! I also have a few other colors from a england that I keep meaning to try a gradient with but that just never seems to happen. Saint George is a scattered holo, the holo gives depth to the polish rather than bling it out like most indie polishes you see. The formula is fantastic but the brush was a bit thin and stiff for my tastes (I also dislike abnormally wide brushes either, for the record). I picked this up from Llarowe but the brand has since exploded and is available from e-tailers all around the world!

a england - Saint George: $10 Llarowe (Int'l), $10 NinjaPolish (Int'l), $10 Color4Nails (US/CA), $13.50 NailPolishCanada (US/CA), £9 a england (UK), $13.50 Femme Fatale Cosmetics (AU/Int'l), $16 Mei Mei's Signatures (SG/Int'l)

China Glaze - I'm Not Lion & China Glaze Spring/Summer 2014 Sneak Peek

I've had this color in my stash in the US since last winter. My mom and sister came to visit me in Toronto last month though and she brought a few of the polishes I had at home with her. I wish there was an easier way to get them here because I still have TONS of nail polishes back in the states. Some of them I miss! But, my stash here in Canada is growing rather large as well. I didn't use a top coat because I liked the way it dried semi-matte.

I'm a bit sad I had to put away the Halloween layout since it was my favorite layout I've made so far. I left it up almost a month after Halloween because I liked it so much. I have a Winterfell inspired layout now though, yay!

China Glaze - I'm Not Lion is a gold glitter with scattered holographic glitters. It's a really gorgeous color from the Fall 2012 On Safari Collection. I liked that collection much better than CG's Fall 2013 collection but their summer 2013 collection (Sunsational) was my favorite collection from CG to date. It looks like they have some nice colors coming up again for summer that I am pretty excited for.

China Glaze - I'm Not Lion:  $3.25 Nailsupplies.us, $6 .95 Nail Polish Canada.

Here is a sneak peak at some of China Glaze's up and coming 2014 collections for spring and summer.

The early spring release will be the crinkled chrome collection (Available November at nailsupplies.us and probably December/January in stores). It looks to be textured pastel chromes.

The spring collection will be the City Flourish collection. (Probably March/April)

The early summer will be the Sea Goddess collection which seems to be bright glittery textured polishes. (Probably April/May)

The Summer collection is called Off Shore. (Probably May/June)

Whimsical Ideas by Pam - Suess

I've had this polish for almost a year now and I just got around to swatching it now! Can you believe it? I got this in the dead of winter during the dark period before I had my light box so unfortunately it did not get swatched despite wearing it several times. I was really unhappy with every photo that I took during the winter so I just pretty much disappeared from blogging last winter. Now that I have a light box, I intend to keep swatching in the winter! I went a day without wearing nail polish so of course... I broke a nail so I am rocking shorties for a few weeks. :(

What I would like to first comment on about this polish is the amazing shelf life. I haven't opened this polish in about 6 months and it never separated, I didn't have to add any thinner and I didn't have to scrape any glitter from the sides of the bottle. I just shook it lightly and it went on just as smooth as the day I got it. The bottles are very thick and high quality so I am wondering if that has something to do with it... or maybe Pam has just found the secret formula!

I was originally put off that Whimsical Ideas by Pam did not have an e-store. To buy "whimsies" you must send an e-mail telling Pam which polishes you wish to buy. I thought this process would take a very long time since you're supposed to be put into a queue but I was determined to have a few of these whimsies. To my surprise, the process was very quick and painless, I sent in an email, I got an invoice within the next 48hrs, I paid it and it was in my mail a week later! Pam only ships to the US so unfortunately these are the last whimsies I will get to own unless I beg my mother to ship me some to Canada.

OPI - Sparkle-Icious

Here is a throwback polish! Today is more of a nail polish memorial swatch than a new shiny-swatch.

I keep carrying this polish with me back and forth from The States to Canada but I'm afraid this is the last time I can wear it because the truth is, this polish has been nearly unsusable for a couple years now. OPI - Sparkle-Icious is from the OPI Holiday 2010 collection and collaboration with the movie Burlesque.

My NPBFF bought me the glitter portion of this set and I didn't use it as much as I would have liked to because I didn't want to waste it, lol. This was my favorite by far but it was hell to revive. I think I squirted about half a bottle of polish thinner in it and it was very difficult to work with. The formula was great for glitters at the time (when it was new) but it's a bit of a step backwards from the nice, flat micro-glitters of today. I got this polish back when I was using a cheap little Kodak Easy Share camera so unfortunately, I don't think I have an old swatch of this but I wanted to make sure I could come up with a swatch before I laid it to rest and stopped trying to use it.

OPI - Sparkle-Icious was a beatiful gold, blue and magenta micro-glitter polish that was so blingly I instantly fell in love with it. The only problem that I ever had with this polish is that it has the OPI extra-wide brush which I absolutely hate.

Now, I can't tell you how many polishes I have had to swatch multiple times because I will take pictures, go on with my day, maybe mess up my nails or get some tip wear and go to the pictures to find a rogue cat hair. It seriously happens all the time, I swear when I check my nails before the photo I can't see any or maybe I'm just so used to having cat fur on everything I own that I'm blind to them now. Today I have a rogue cat hair and I will wear it proudly! Here is to you, OPI - Sparkle-Icious.

OPI - Baby Please Come Home

Baby Please Come Home is frome OPI's Holiday 2013 Collection collaboration with Mariah Carey. As usual, the formula was great and I still love Liquid Sands. I don't have too much to say about this one except that I like it a lot. :D

OPI - Baby Please Come Home: $9 Ulta, $9 Nail Polish Canada (US/CA), $10 Trade Secrets (CA)
