Glamour Doll Eyes Swatches (Lots)

These are swatches from 3 separate orders from Glamour Doll Eyes. I swatched some of them a long time ago but I wanted a comparison between some so I just decided to re-do them all at once. I love Glamour Doll Eyes because they are higher quality than most drug-store shadows for about the same price (if you get the full size). I like to get the samples because a lot of the colors I ordered are colors that I won't be using very often (bright reds, oranges and greens) and because it's hard to judge a color based on an online photo. I also took this opportunity to test the 4 types of primer I have against each other.

Glamour Doll Eyes - Assorted Loose Shadows: $6.00/5g jar, $2.50/1g jar, $1.25/0.5g bag at GlamourDollEyes.com

Glamour Doll Eyes: Junkie, Her Revenge, Spider-Sense, Southern Lace & Strawberry Cupcake

Glamour Doll Eyes: My Belle, Evacuate, Jailhouse Jumpsuit, Big Top & Electric Lemonade
This set was swatched over NYX HD Shadow Base with a damp brush from a tube that is at least two years old.

Glamour Doll Eyes Shadows:
My favorites are Junkie, Strawberry Cupcake and Evacuate. I especially like Evacuate because I have been looking for a good melon/tangerine color for quite some time. Evacuate is limited edition, so get it before June 20!

NYX HD Eye Shadow Base: $6.99 for 8g/.28oz
This turned out to be my favorite primer. I got this primer because I was out of primer and I was broke and I wasn't expecting much out of it. The only reason this tube is so old is because I decided to try UDPP and TFSI after it. When I am out of those, I will be going back to the NYX primer.

Glamour Doll Eyes: Upper East Side, Sarcasm, Fiji Mermaid, Olivia Green, Immature, Shamrock & Apple Martini
Glamour Doll Eyes: Mackinac, Mighty Maiden, Cotton Candy, Melancholy, Mingles, Tattooed & Super Nova
This set was swatched over Urban Decay Primer Potion mini tube (came in a palette) that is only two months old with a damp brush.

Glamour Doll Eyes Shadows:
My favorites are Fiji Mermaid, Olivia Green, Immature, Mackinac and Mingles. I have found that I REALLY love GDE's matte shadows.

Urban Decay Primer Potion: $20 for 10.5g/.37oz

This is my second experience with UDPP and the second time I'm disappointed with it. It seems to dry out my skin and create crackling in the shadows. It also dries out very quickly in the tube.

Glamour Doll Eyes: Pinky Swear, Phyrra, Prom Dress, Stiletto, Pillow Fight, #FlashbackFriday, All Nighter & Lace Panties
Glamour Doll Eyes: Parlor Tricks, Just Dance!, Glam Girl, Feline Fatale, Shaded Orchid, Girlfriend Sweater, Stellar & Victorian
This set was swatched over Glamour Doll Eyes Control Freak sample that is about 2 years old with a damp brush.

Glamour Doll Eyes Shadows:
My favorites were Prom Dress, Stiletto, Pillow Fight, Parlor Tricks, Just Dance! & Girlfriend Sweater. There were so many wins out of the pinks and purples... so many wins. #FlashbackFriday was the April GWP which is still available here until it sells out. I'm really bummed that these photos didn't turn out better but the primer was just not very good.

Glamour Doll Eyes Control Freak (Eye Primer): $10.75 for 11g/.39 oz
I love GDE shadows but I strongly dislike this primer. I had the worst results with it. It's very oily and it soaks too much into the skin so it hardly leaves a base at all. I got uneven coverage with it and I'm so pale that it left a bronze tint on my skin.

Glamour Doll Eyes: Soul Sisters, Corrode, Boyfriend Sweater, Disclose, Sword Swallower, Electric Chair & Cloud Coverage
This set was swatched over Too Faced Shadow Insurance in a tube that is 1 year old with a damp brush.

Glamour Doll Eyes Shadows:
I didn't go to crazy on the browns because I already own so many browns. My Favorites were Boyfriend Sweater and Cloud Coverage.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance: $20 for 10g/.35oz.
This was the most expensive primer out of the bunch, beating out UDPP by just a few cents (having .5g less for the same price). It performed exactly as well as the NYX HD Eye Shadow Base but, is quite a bit more expensive.
