Sephora + Pantone Universe - Radiant Cut Shadow Palette

And now for something a bit different... I interrupt your some-what regular nail polish related posts with some makeup swatches! I have a great love for eye shadows and I own a ton of them but I don't usually swatch them. I'm thinking about starting but I get a bit stumped when I go to create looks for them. Please excuse the horrible dark circles under my eyes, they are caused from a combination of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and being ridiculously pale (my skin is pretty much translucent). I got this palette on sale with my X-Mas money, I was lusting over it on the Sephora site for a while because of the green shadow in it. The few reviews were mediocre and I couldn't find a ton of swatches of it online. I felt like buying it was a gamble, but it was actually a gamble that paid off. The shadows are very smooth and pigmented though I did have trouble blending the dark brown color into the crease.

I swatched these all over Urban Decay Primer Potion with a damp brush. I don't have 8 shadow brushes, so I didn't have much choice but to swatch them with a damp brush, haha.

Sephora + Pantone Universe - Radiant Cut Shadow Palette: $20 Sephora
Bottom Row L to R, then Top Row L to R.

For this look, I used every color in the palette. I used the second beige from the top left as a base,  the first beige on the left for a brow highlight. I used the silver from the bottom right to line my lower lash line. The yellow-gold is on the inner corner followed by the green, the blue is in the middle of the lid, the purple is on the outer corner and the dark brown is in the crease.

Shadows: Sephora + Pantone Universe - Radiant Cut Shadow Palette
Liner: CoverGirl Perfect Blend Pencil - Basic Black with Urban Decay - Blackout patted on top.
Mascara: CoverGirl Exact EyeLights Eye-Brightening Mascara - Black/Gold (For Hazel Eyes)

Primer: Too Faced - Shadow Insurance (original)

China Glaze - Seahorsin' Around

Here is another standout from the China Glaze Sea Goddess Collection called Seahorsin' Around. This is actually a 1 coater, I felt a strong urge to use a second coat just because I always use at least a second coat, but it just REALLY didn't need it this time and I didn't want to risk taking away from the textured effect as multiple coats often do. Seahorsin' Around features the same gold shimmer that Wish On A Starfish does and it's amazing. This one reminds me a bit of if Zoya - Charla (or OPI - Catch Me In Your Net) and OPI - Tiffany Case had a baby.

China Glaze - Wish On A Starfish

Wish On A Starfish might be my favorite from the Sea Goddess collection. It reminds me of Zoya - Happi's textured twin. Dat gold shimmer, tho! It's a shame my skin tone is too pink to do this color much justice because I really love these pinks. They don't look great on me, but I will keep buying them because they are gorgeous!

China Glaze - Teal The Tide Turns

Woohoo! I have been so excited about the China Glaze Sea Goddess collection. Since I moved to Canada, collections have only become available to me several weeks after the USA receives them. I was in luck because Nail Polish Canada got them in a very timely manner, the shipping was free and it only took 2 days. This is my first time ordering from Nail Polish Canada and I'm quite impressed. They ship from Toronto (which is where I live) but, I have had things shipped from 15-30 mins away and still had them take a week before so I was expecting a longer wait. In the states, I usually ordered from discount e-tailers that get the collections early, but, NPC carries them at full retail price which was a bit hard to get past. What really saved it was the free shipping from within Canada and the short delivery time. I even got $10 off for ordering the whole collection which I intended on doing anyway. :D I am definitely going to be ordering from Nail Polish Canada again.

On to the polish: I love textured polishes and I love spring and summer colors which is why I was really excited for this collection. Normally, China Glaze is my favorite mainstream brand but this is my first time trying their textures because I didn't like how their previous collections looked in reviews. I have swatched the whole collection on swatch sticks and all except this color have the perfect textured formula. They seemed to have not added enough texture bits to this color though because there are areas that it appears smooth and the application is uneven. While I would have preferred they made the formula of this particular color a little better, it's still a winner and worth having in my opinion. The color reminds me of one of those sea-scented sand candles!

I ♥ NP - Cyngus Loop

I've had these polishes since they came out but I was waiting for my nails to be at their longest to show them off (the longer they are the more duo-chrome I can show off :D). It's been so long now that they have even expanded the collection and added a holographic version. Haha, oops! Hopefully I make it through the three that I own before I break a nail!

Now I've seen a lot of underwater pics of these polishes which are ridiculously gorgeous (and super cool) but it's important to know that you will never see that much of a duo-chrome on your nail unless it is submurged in water (which reflects lights from all angles) or your nails become spherical. It's no fault of the nail polish, it's just physics. It always looks better in the bottle because the bottle curves more than your nail. But, you will have a ton of fun looking at these while swimming or in the shower. They're great in regular lighting too, but you'll always only see two colors and maybe a hint of a third.

Fun Fact: My first duo-chrome nail polish was Sally Hansen Nail Prisms - Turquoise Opal which my (now)husband gave to me as a gift when I came up to meet him for the first time in Toronto. My engagement/wedding ring's main stones are simulated alexandrite which flashes purple/teal just like the polish (real alexandrite is red/green). :D

Customer Review of Rosewholesale.com

Buyer Beware
Update: It has been 2 weeks since I complained to customer service about the missing item and I have received no reply. I will send in another complaint today (2/5). I searched for reviews and looked at their facebook and they seem to be flooded with complaints. I would consider buying from Rosewholesale very risky.

Update 2: I received a reply to my second complaint on 2/6 and they asked if I wanted to pick another item or get a refund. I asked for a refund and as of 4/17 I never got a refund. I decided to give up rather than send in a 3rd complaint.

I love cheap accessories. I really don't accessorize often enough that I am willing to spend any decent sum of money on them. When I saw a review of Rosewholesale.com, I decided to check them out and found enough items that I was interested in to give them a shot and put in an order. I sent in an order on Christmas Day and I received the items yesterday (1/21). Considering the items were shipped from China, that is about average for the shipping time.

I was not expecting much from the order. Some of the items are good quality and some are pretty bad, one item was missing completely. I ordered a necklace that was paid for and not shipped, I checked on the site to see if the item was still there and I saw that it was sold out so I am guessing they over-sold and was just hoping I wouldn't notice the missing item. I sent in a complaint to customer service and I'm waiting on a reply. I received a bracelet out of a bangle set that was scuffed. The ring I ordered was (one-size).... and I would determine it is about a size 5 and does not even fit my pinky but to be fair, I do have pretty chunky fingers. The ear cuff I ordered will hook on my ear but unfortunately, most of the spikes are not visible... my ear just seems to be the wrong shape, it's too ovaly and not round. o_O

If they send a replacement item and offer some sort of freebie, I will consider it a decent experience where I got what I paid for. (I will update this post with the results I get from customer service) I only paid $47.01 USD for the whole order which is a great deal cheaper than Claire's and is of a similar quality. I will have to say though, that I probably will not order from Rosewholesale.com again. I am quite happy with 4 of the items, decently happy with 3 of the items and unhappy with 3 of the items (including the missing item). If you're thinking of ordering from Rosewholesale.com... I would tell you, don't expect much and you won't be very disappointed. :)

$4.29 6PCS Fashionable Faux Pearl Decorated Multilayer Bracelets for Women
I was somewhat happy with this item. It did arrive scuffed but it is hardly noticeable.

Left: $2.91 Fashion Europe Style Fish Scale Embellished Ringent Bracelet
Middle: $1.53 Retro Style Lovely Fox Ring
Right: Chic Style Fishes and lotus Pattern Decorated Women's Tibetan Silver Bracelet

I was happy with both of these bracelets, they are adjustable and made with pretty thick metal. The Fox ring was too small for even my pinky (must be a size 5 or so). It was super cheap though, so I'm not that worried about it. I will probably give it to a kid.

Left: $6.71 Pair of Chic Black Diamante Butterfly Shape Earrings For Women
Right: $4.00 Retro Style and Stylish Rivet and Chain Embellished Earring With Comb
I am happy with the earrings, no complaints. The Earring with Comb looks much cheaper in real life than it does in the photo on the website, the texture of the metal is uneven and the gold plating is also more yellowy than the photo on the website. Totally wrong shape for my ear.

$5.20 Sweet Rhinestone Butterfly Openwork Tassel Sweater Chain Necklace For Women
This item arrived as described. My only unhappiness with it is that I have no idea what I was thinking when I ordered a necklace this large. Haha. It might draw more attention than I am looking for.

Bottom: $7.02 Fashionable Knot Decorated Black Hairband For Women
Top: $5.07 Fashion Gorgeous Style Rhinestone Embellished Vintage Hair Band
Not Pictured: $5.45 Trendy Beads Decorated Fish Sweater Chain Necklace For Women (because they never sent it)
The headbands are great. If I had to complain, the black knot band does have a big seam on the bottom that is stitched together with red thread so you cannot fold it over and wear it upside down which is not how it is intended to be worn anyway (but is totally something I would do).

Emily De Molly - Monet's Garden

It's been so long since I've last posted but I got sick on Christmas Day and had a horrible flu and I am even STILL sick. I've never been sick this long, it's crazy. I didn't even paint my nails for the first 2 weeks. I got a ton of things over Christmas which I have yet to show off, hopefully that will be in an upcoming post soon! I also did swatch sticks. :)

One of my orders for myself for Christmas contained some Aussie polishes! This is my first Emily de Molly polish and it's absolutely lovely. I'm impressed. This is my favorite bottle shape and I also love the brush. This polish did not require Glitter Food which is usually required for something so packed with glitter. My favorite thing about this polish though is that it leans more green than your typical teal polish which makes it unique. I also adore the lime green glitters. :D

I ordered from Femme Fatale Cosmetics (AU), I was pleased to find out they now ship all polishes internationally, so I decided to try them out. They had a Wing Dust Collections polish in stock that was out of stock everywhere else. Now, the only problem was the shipping time, I lay 100% of the blame on Canada Post because they have been absolutely dreadful for at least a couple months now. Even domestic shipping seems to take forever. The package took 1 month to show up! When I was in the states, shipping to and from Australia only took 2 weeks. However, even getting packages from The States takes a 2 week minimum atm. I am American so, I was spoiled to Saturday mail already. But, Canada Post now only shows up every other day and seems to only deliver parcels once a week on Fridays. They are even threatening to cut door to door delivery all together, it's crazy.
