Femme Fatale - Apothecary

Apothecary was a color that I had to have as soon as I saw swatches. For some reason, I couldn't find this color at many stockists. Either they are out of stock, not stocking this color or they haven't got it in yet. NA people can keep their eyes on Harlow & Co and Color 4 Nails to see if this color pops up or just pay a ton of shipping to get it in from either Australia or Singapore like I did via FFC or Mei Mei's (it was worth it).

Apothecary is a really cool seafoam green with a strong linear holo, a heavy gold shimmer and gold flakes. This color has a very mermaid vibe to it and I love it. Indoors, the shimmer overpowers the holo which isn't really a bad thing because it sets it apart from other seafoam holos. The holo is definitely still there though and gets even more vibrant in the sun.

This color also looks REALLY good matte and adds to the mermaid vibe. Using a matte top coat may negate the holo-goodness but, gold shimmer looks soso good with a satiny finish. It also helps the gold flakes stand out.

Femme Fatale - Maddening Whispers

I had no idea what this color was going to look like when it showed up since it seems to look like 3 different colors in swatches so I was just hoping that I liked it. I captured it the best that I could and I think the first picture is a pretty accurate swatch.

The only difference between the two pictures is that the first has partial direct light whereas the second is diffused light only and the swatches look like different colors so, I can see why there is so much variety in the swatches. The first picture is more true to color. The duo-chrome takes over in the shade in natural sunlight but, the holo takes over in fluorescent lighting or direct sunlight.

Maddening Whispers is a complex color because it is holographic, duo-chromatic and also has a shimmer. It seems to be a dark blue to purple shift with a strong linear holo and a green-gold shimmer. The formula is awesome and you could get away with one coat but, I used two.

I am really kicking myself in the butt for ordering this when I did though because Femme Fatale came out with some awesome glitters like a week after I placed my order. Aggh! I will have to wait until a NA stockist gets them in. Harlow & Co told me 2-3 weeks so I will try to pick some up then! :)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Loose Eyeshadow Swatches

It's a rare occasion that I order from Femme Fatale Cosmetics because shipping from Australia costs so much but it's not from lack of want. Even if the buyers remorse hits immediately after ordering, I feel much better about it when it shows up on my doorstep 2 weeks later and I'm happier with the package than I usually am with my North American based products.

This is my first time trying out Femme Fatale Cosmetic's eye shadows and I was not disappointed. I ordered mini sizes (3.63 CAD inc. GST/3g) and got 3 free sample baggies along with my order.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Loose Eyeshadows: $6.44 CAD/5g or $3.63 CAD/3g.

OPI - Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow (Suede)

Here is an oldie but a goodie. I got this after it had been discontinued for a couple years as a birthday gift from my sister. This from OPI's Fall 2010 Suede collection. I really wish OPI would re-release the Suede collection but I don't really see that happening. :/

Zoya - Sunshine

I seem to be on a Zoya kick lately, I have been wearing a lot of it. That's not a bad thing since Zoya polishes are pretty awesome(with the exception of Wendy). I also have quite a few Zoyas that remain unswatched so you might be seeing a lot more Zoyas soon. It does help that they make the best textured polishes around and I looove texture polishes. :P

Here is Sunshine, a dark denim blue texture polish from the Fall 2013 Pixie Dust Collection.
